About this episode
Maher took out a loan on his father's name to pay for a $2,000 course after his parents called him a donkey.
Maher moved to Sweden from Syria as a child with his family, with no money, resources or jobs. He had no money of his own, so he and his older brother took out a loan on his father's name to pay for it. He agreed to repay the loan over 24 months using the $120 a month he received from the government for studying. He landed his first client, a gym in Sweden paying $600, six weeks after investing in the course. Maher now runs a business consultancy helping online high-ticket sales and service providers scale.
Maher wants to build his own university teaching entrepreneurship, where students study for three to five years while running a business and earn a proper degree.
